Pissy's back...

Oh joy. Maybe there's a pill or something I can take. I won't spout off on my pissiness...no worries there.

I think I need to have a day where I do nothing. Do you ever need a day like that? I think I'm up for one. Maybe Sunday.

Here's my dressing up for this year. I was a student at my school. I know, lame. Maybe wings next year...or a candy corn witch...not the trampy version though.

Last year...

Happy Halloween! Hope you have loads of fun.

So far this week I've...

  • Wished it was the weekend (since Monday)
  • Learned a billion GRE vocabulary words
  • Got all nostalgic and watched The Great Pumpkin
  • Practiced some avoidance behavior
  • Wore a jacket yesterday and I'll get to wear one today
  • Stuck my foot in my mouth twice
  • Discovered that John cheats at paper, rock, scissors
  • Made my grandfather laugh with jokes about me being stupid...he laughed a little too hard
  • I'm still wishing for the weekend

Seasonal Flavors are for Girls...

Maybe it's just because I live with a boy who isn't a fan of seasonal flavors (ie pumpkin lattes) but I think seasonal flavors are geared towards girls. Boys seem to have no interest in eating or drinking anything pumpkin flavored. Am I wrong?

Although, John did enjoy the pumpkin crunch I bought us from World Market. Have you had it? You can't beat it...caramel popcorn with chocolate drizzled over it, chocolate covered almonds, caramel popcorn covered in orange to look like pumpkins and just a hint of pumpkin flavoring. I LOVE it.

I bought pumpkin flavored ice cream last weekend...for myself...Rocky Road for the boy. In December I'll buy peppermint flavored ice cream.

Looking Awesome...

Here's my friend L and me looking super cool in our IMAX 3-D glasses. I was sad when we had to give them back.

A day isn't complete without...

String cheese. That's all I got people. Sorry, I'm tapped. Aren't you happy you clicked on my blog today?

Tonight I went to the IMAX with a friend to see U2 in concert. I have a picture of us looking awesome in our IMAX 3-D glasses. Not sure if I'm going to post it though. If you really want me to I will...for a dollar.

Update...

Hi you guys. I haven't been on blogger for a few days...I have some catching up to do. Here's an update on what I've been up to:
  • My fall break has ended...tear.
  • I've been studying for the GRE. I decided to just get a book and a box of GRE vocabulary...I know, I'm lame.
  • I've also been working on my application. I sent a carefully worded email to an old professor asking for a letter of recommendation and he wrote me back. It looks like he's going to write me a letter...phew.
  • I bedazzled our house. Just kidding. I did add some flair to it this weekend though. I don't have a bedazzler.
  • I tried the new pineapple chicken from Panda Express. Nice try but Orange Chicken is still my number one.
I know that's not much of an update but my second and third on the list have been taking most of my time. Hope your week is off to a good start.

Too cool for school...

Yesterday I got a lot further on my application process for the graduate program. I also had a freak out moment where I got a little over whelmed (I do that).

My freak out moment first started when I received the information that I need to take the GRE earlier than I was already scheduled for. I was going to take it on November 20 but now I'm scheduled for November 9.

I also have to contact one of my college professors to write me a letter of recommendation (requirement). I graduated ten years ago and didn't keep in contact with any of them. That's going to be awkward.

Here's the t-shirt I stole from John after the concert on Friday.

I should have said yes when he asked me if I wanted my own. I guess we'll have to share.

Procrastination...

I am totally procrastinating right now. I sat down on the couch so I could work on applying to the graduate program and the only thing I've been successful at so far is wasting a whole bunch of time. Here's my time wasters:
  • Checked my work email.
  • Checked my personal email.
  • Logged onto facebook.
  • Googled some key words to see if my blog pops up. Did you know that if you google "Memory loss in early thirties" that my post about it is the second link? I also googled Sunny Day Real Estate and my blog didn't pop up. Maybe early thirties memory loss isn't as common as the band.
I'll get busy now...for reals.

Sunny Day Real Estate...

John and I went to see them play on Friday night. They were one of John's favorite bands of the 90's so that meant that I listened to them quite a bit with him. They stopped playing together for awhile but are back.

It was AMAZING.

Being at this concert was a lot different than the week before when we went to see Ingrid Michaelson. Ingrid Michaelson and her band put on a great show but watching SDRE was more emotional. They really put their souls into it.

It was also pretty nostalgic being at the show listening to songs live that I used to listen to with John back when we were puppies. Since I'm a nostalgia junkie I was thrilled to be at the concert. I didn't want it to end.

Busted...

I logged onto my facebook today to find some pictures of me from my friend's baby shower on Saturday. This one made me laugh. If you click on the picture you can see it better.

I guess I open my mouth really wide when I eat...sexy.

Just Practicing...

This is my "I'm relaxed" face. Don't I look relaxed?

Well, I just have today and tomorrow then I'm off for nine glorious days. Nine days of movie watching, sleeping in, baking, reading, shopping, making new playlists...

I think I'll have a t-shirt made. It will say,"Fall Break...ahhhhhhh."

Thoughts...

Today is one of those days I'd like to go to work in my pajamas and slippers drinking cocoa all day. I also wouldn't "teach". We would just have a story hour...all day long. Kita would also join us while laying on her big pillow.

That would be cool.

Taking the steps...

I signed up to take the GRE in November. Has anyone taken it before? Do you think I should sign up for a study course? Yuck...I hope you say no.

Back on the Bike...

From May to October one thing you will not catch me doing is riding a bike around here. I don't do too well in the heat and 100+ degree weather is murder on me...hence all the moaning and groaning about recess duty.

Well, this weekend John and I went on two bike rides. Bike riding weather is here again Baby!!!

Our Saturday ride was a night ride. It couldn't have been more pleasant than it was. We rode our bikes to dinner. It felt like we were on vacation.

I'm in a really really good mood. I work this week and then I'm off for a week for Fall Break. Whoever decided on Fall Break deserves a high five.

A night with Ingrid...

John and I went on a date last night to see Ingrid Michaelson. She's fabulous. Her voice is amazing and her songs are great. I love live music.

During the show a big boat went by promoting a Boats N' Hoes party.

Maybe that's what I'll be for Halloween...a hoe...with wings. Just kidding. I wouldn't still wear the wings.

I've shown you some Ingrid before but here's some more...

Fit Friday...

Maintenance mode. I've technically been maintaining my weight loss for a year and a half now.

I don't feel like I'm doing much different now than when I was losing. I still plan, measure, set goals, exercise 6 days/wk and track my efforts.

John thinks I should relax a little since I've made it to maintenance mode but I can't. I have a fear that I'm going to fall back into old habits. My old habits were very unhealthy and my body was starting to feel it.

I'll just keep on doing what I do and take mental notes on what people do who have maintained a healthy lifestyle long term. I don't really think that a year and a half could be considered the long term yet.

Have a fun weekend...

October...

I love October because it's such a fun month. I wonder if we'll dress up again this year.

Here's a picture from last year at our friends' Halloween party. John's a lamp.

My favorite was when we were in Target trying on lamp shades. It seemed totally normal until a lady saw us and started laughing. She said,"I think that looks great on you."

If we do dress up this year I want to be something that has wings. Glittery ones.
