Memories and Great Friends
Yesterday my great friend Natalie had us ladies over for Memory Lane. We all got to share pictures and stories from our past. I am very thankful that I have such special friends in my life who we can share our pasts and we are all genuinely interested.

Darn Social Media
I have been awake since 6:30a.m. with a grand agenda. So far all I've accomplished is creating a Twitter account which I'm pretty excited about (I know, sad), posted a link to Facebook, spent A LOT of time on Hello Giggles, played my turn in Words with Friends in 5 different games, perused Pinterest and Instagram and cooked up/ate 3 strips of bacon. I'm exhausted.

Household Happenings
A couple of weeks ago John and I decided to do a puzzle together. It was going to be the first puzzle we've ever done since we've been married. I sat in the chair next to him and successfully found 3 pieces of the 1000 piece puzzle. John, you're welcome.
After he placed the very last piece I asked him, "So, what puzzle are we going to do next?" He laughed and said, "We?" I told him that I just need a little bit of a less complicated one for our next one. Maybe one with 500 pieces.
After watching a Nate Berkus video I decided that our guest bathroom needed some refreshing.
I didn't realize what an undertaking it was going to be. I'm not done
yet. All of our old stuff coordinated and our new stuff doesn't. So I
guess I'll be forced to do some more shopping today to pull the whole
look together.
I also need to take the steamer to the new curtain and get one of those sticky mats to put under the new bath mat. John almost fell into the bathtub yesterday. I was in the kitchen and I heard him yell out, "Mare!! Our new bathmat almost made me eat sh#@!" Oops. Sorry, John.
Here's Kita taking a forced rest on the runner outside of our bedroom door. This is not one of her normal places to nap so I'm pretty sure she fell down and decided to stay there. Poor mama. On a high note, her new medication is helping her to not get up in the middle of the night and relieve herself on the carpet under the pool table...#1 and #2.
I'm sad to say that today is the last day of my Spring Break. I made a doctor's appointment for today to just check me out and make sure everything is running smoothly. I HATE going to the doctor. It's good for me so I'm going. I need a treat after my appointment for sure.

Spring Break
Today was another fun day in Spring Break heaven. My lovely friend Brenda let me pick a bunch of oranges from her orange tree. I think I should have mimosas every day until I go back to work.
After we ate lunch at Some Burros I found that my car had its own idea of where I should go next and it decided that I go here...
I am aok with that decision. I left with one small bag and about $100 less than when I went in. Darn you Hobby Lobby and your awesome merchandise. One of the things I bought was a quilling set. I was so excited about it that I went home and quilled for an hour. Here's what I was able to do in an hour (53 minutes to be exact).
John got home and started working on his puzzle while I made dinner.
Don't worry Janet, that meal is completely full of gluten. I took your advice and will not lay off of the gluten until I get tested to see if I have an allergy or at least a sensitivity to it. Thanks for the 411!
I will continue to bask in the glory of Spring Break.

I'm Back...Maybe
In the fall I added a blogger app to my phone and did some posts until my phone freaked out, stopped working and then I had to get a new phone. Well it's Spring Break and I have decided to give the app another try.
Here's the most recent pictures from my phone.
Last Friday John was the best man in our friend James
wedding to a very sweet woman named Rebecca. I wasn't in the wedding so
while they were taking pictures afterward I sat on a patio drinking
wine by myself when a man at the resort came out to hit on me. What??
It's been so long since I've been hit on that it took me a minute to
realize that's what he was doing. Being a fan of fidelity I immediately
used the phrase,"my husband".
John's speech at the
reception was pretty unique and funny. Everyone was laughing but the
end of it was really sweet. It was his third time being Best Man at a
wedding and his seventh time just being in a wedding. It's awesome but that means I have to go to the ceremonies
alone and sit by myself.
On Saturday my buddies came over to celebrate National Craft Month with
me. We decoupaged tissue paper cut outs to glass candle holders. As it
turns out I'm extremely slow at this process. Everyone else was
finished about an hour before me. I'm not even done in this picture. The whole back of my holder needed to be finished but we needed to get our group picture done before Brenda and Joni had to leave.
John had to go to El Paso at the last minute on Saturday morning and
wasn't going to be able to come back until Monday. So on Sunday evening
Natalie and her sweet family had me over for some deliciousness. I'm
impressed that Natalie can handle the grill. I have only used the grill
once and that was under close supervision.
On Monday morning I met Lauren at IHOP for breakfast. I had her take this picture of me so I could send it to Eliza. We had decided that since we were both eating at IHOP on Monday morning that we would send each other pictures of ourselves with our breakfast. Eliza looked much cuter and excited about her breakfast than I did.
Last night we had dinner with sweet baby Liam and their parents, Jodi and Carl. I had a completely gluten free meal and two gluten free beers. John says it was the worst beer he's ever tasted. To me it just tasted like beer. I decided yesterday that I'm going to try being gluten free for two weeks to see if it helps me. I have diagnosed myself with Celiacs disease. I have no idea if I really have that but I'm going to the doctor on Friday so I will discuss it with her.
I really love being on Spring Break.

Comedians and Cocktails
Last night John and I went to see the highly inappropriate comedian Anthony Jeselnik at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino. He is funny but sometimes I think he crosses the line just to cross the line.
My favorite part was during the question and answer segment. When asked, "What is the meaning of life?" He said, "Laugh until you die!" That is not quite what I would say but I definitely like it.
We really enjoyed our night out and I even got a new cocktail picture!

Organization
My speech pathologist friend from work gave me 4 hours outside of our work day this week to help me organize my classroom closet.
I have included an appalling before picture. I am hoping to be able to include a fabulous after picture by the end of this weekend. I am in awe of people who possess the organization talent!
My speechy friend said she would help me for three hours tomorrow. What? On a Saturday? Im thinking a gift basket of hoppy beer and related beer snacks are in her future. Thank goodness for speechy friends! (Since I have been at Frank school, I have made wonderful friends with the speech therapists. Hi Natalie!)
