Inside My Brain

My blog is called Mare's Mind but I don't really talk too much about what goes on in my mind. Not really anyway. Especially lately. So if you have a little bit of time I'll let you know what really goes on in my mind. It's spectacular. Just kidding. Are you ready?

Here we go.

I do a lot of pep talks for myself, especially during the week. I tell myself things like, "I'm a champion" (no laughing please) and "My day starts right now". I got that second one from yoga a few years ago. The instructor kept saying, "Your yoga practice starts right now." I liked it. It made me forget about being tired and hot (I was in Hot Yoga). It's pretty useful for my days too. It keeps my stamina up.

I think about how awesome I am. I'm totally kidding about that one. I don't think I'm awesome. I don't think I suck as a person either though. I think I'm a pretty normal person who is trying to make life happy.

I think about food. A lot. John and I were taking a "How well do you know your spouse?" quiz today. One of the questions was, "What is your spouse's favorite food?" We both got this answer right. I was right when I said that pizza was John's favorite and he was right when he said that all food was my favorite.

I think about the past. I don't live in the past but I do enjoy reminiscing about good memories. My favorite memories are the ones where there was a lot of laughing and ones with great food. Some even combine the two like when my sister and I had a fudge fight. I think I won. I definitely got more on her face than she did on my mine.

I really try to not let my mind wander during whatever situation I'm in. That's difficult sometimes but I'm really working on trying to stay in the moment.

I think about how old I am. Thirty three isn't a spring chicken. It doesn't mean I have one foot in the grave either though. It just means that now more than ever I realize that I don't have unlimited time. I have also realized that the people in my life are more important than anything else.

I think about how I'm pretty lucky. My life has been a great one so far. The only not so great moments I've had are moments all people have to go through at some point.

So there's my brain, for the most part. I also have random, silly things that go through my mind but I thought I'd just share some of the biggies for this post.

Aww. What a great post. I love being let into the inner workings of Mare's Mind. I too think about food nearly all the time during waking hours.

Do you happen to have pictures of this fudge fight that could be scanned and shared. I'd be willing to pay upwards of 1 hot fudge sundae to see that.

haha! the food comment was my favorite part. it's always good to do a little self-reflection. and it's definitely fun to read how similar our minds are to others. i look forward to hearing all the jokes and other funny things your mind thinks up! ;)

I love when you share your mind. It makes me happy. It makes me think of eating raw hot dogs, swimming in your pool, and crying when you laugh at people falling. All good times =)
