I'm not going to go into a lot of detail in this post because it will upset me but I'll give you the basic information. Last week my grandma (my mom's mom) had to have emergency surgery. She went through the surgery okay but afterward had complications.
Thursday was her 85th birthday and she spent it in the hospital in a coma like state. She wasn't in a coma exactly but she was completely out and on a ventilator. All of the family was already making plans to go to El Paso.
On Friday we lost her. Tuesday was her funeral. The entire family went to El Paso to say good bye to her and to support my Grand Dad and each other. We were all very sad to have lost her. The one bright side was getting to see the whole family. We truly have a wonderful family.
Here's some pictures from the trip.
This is a picture of my grand dad and me on Sunday. It was our birthday...
Here's a picture of my mom and step dad at my day after birthday Birthday dinner...
If you're a GVZ reader then you know who these cuties are. I was so so so excited to meet Norah in person, finally. She's just as adorable as you think she would be...
Sisters. Well, they're sisters but they're my cousins. J and S...
This picture is full of cousins, cousin spouses, cousin's kids, an aunt, an uncle, my sister and my spouse...
Yes, these last few days have been a mixture of extreme sadness for losing someone we all loved so much and happiness for getting to see family we never get to see.
Have a Delicious Weekend.

Oh, Maryellen, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure there was a lot of comfort in being there with all of your family but even that is not enough to replace your grandma. You will be in my thoughts.
We got back from our trip today. I'll call you soon.
I'm so sorry for your loss :(
