This is week two of Show Us Where You Live Friday hosted by Kelly at Kelly's Korner. Living rooms are the feature room. If you're one of my loyal followers (Mom), be sure to check out Kelly's home by clicking on Kelly at Kelly's Korner above. It's beautiful.
Welcome to our living room. We don't have a "formal" living room, we've just got the one.
This is what you see when you walk into our house. John and I also see a jumping dog when we get home. We could leave the house for fifteen minutes and Kita would still get super excited when we walk in...
This is the view from our dining room. We just got HD cable and John discovered the Palladia channel. It has concerts on it pretty much 24/7.
I love the top shelf of our bookcase for two reasons. I LOVE this lamp. John gave it to me last year for my birthday. It's my happy lamp. I also refer to it as my Hobbit lamp. I think it looks like something that would be in a little Hobbit home for sure.
I also love the picture we have on the shelf. It's of my brother, sister and me from when we were little kiddos. I'm the one with the beanie over my eyes. My sister did that right before my dad took the picture.
When I took this picture I was standing next to our fireplace.
I took this picture of Kita last weekend. I walked into the living room and found her like this. It was too sweet to pass up. Good thing we keep our camera close by...
Thanks for checking out our living room!

First I'm laughing at what you wrote directly to your mom! ha! My mom was pretty much the only person who read my blog for years so I can appreciate that!
You have a very pretty living room! Love the red couch! Thanks for playing along!

You guys have done such a great job creating a room that truly reflects both your personalities but is still warm and inviting. I too am a BIG fan of the red couch.

I'm with Kelly on the laughing part. I too love to hear when someone has read my blog. Mainly sis and dad. Also your profile is too funny!!! Still doing everything sis does. I think if I could I probably would, but I'm the one with three kids and she is enjoying her great life of getting to shop for herself 24/7. Ha! I loved your pic of your family when you were little and your fireplace. Ours is rock too! Love that!
I love your red couch and the cool art above the mantel :-)

Hey! Are you even going to see me down here at the bottom of the comments? I love your living room too. I considered playing along but we actually had our house listed for sale last week and have started to pack. My house is NOT ready for its 15 minutes of fame.
